Atlantic Children's Chorale

A selected children’s choir that develops the children’s potential to a high level of vocal technique and musicianship while exploring challenging children’s choral repertoire in a fun atmosphere.

The Objectives
· To learn proper vocal technique and music notation.
· To Learn repertoire inclusive of diverse historical periods and languages
· To learn to appreciate high caliber choral music.

Membership requirements
· Be at grade level 4th through 9th
· Attend a simple audition designed to check voice range and quality
· Remain a member of your church or local school choir
· Be recommended by your choir director
· Excellent attendance and behavior
· Have a love for music and loyal dedication

Dr. José Daniel Flores, Director

About the director

José Daniel Flores’ distinguished career includes prestigious positions in the academic world as well as in churches with notable choral programs.  He has directed prize winning choirs in different schools in San Juan where he was also the Dean of Academic Affairs at the Conservatory of Music founded by Pablo Casals.

Flores has studied under highly regarded conductors such as Helmuth Rilling, Don Moses and Fred Stoltzfus, among others.  His comprehensive training includes a Doctorate in Sacred Music from the Oxford Graduate Theological Foundation, a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting with a minor in Organ from the University of Illinois and a Bachelors in Music Education with a minor in Instrumental Conducting from the Conservatory of Music in San Juan.

Since February 2003, Dr. Flores holds the position of Director of Music /Organist at the Community Church of Vero Beach where he has already established a reputation for excellent musical performances.
